Ken Smith, LPC

20150916_102920-1Ken has been approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Ohio Counseling Association.  Ken received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Union Institute and University.  He also holds a Master of Science focused on behavioral and experimental psychology, a B.S.Agr. in Animal Science and a B.A. in History from The Ohio State University.  Prior work experience includes review and assessment for over 350 businesses in 45 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces.  Ken’s prior M.S. work focused primarily on pain and stress.  His M.A. work focuses on treating shame and guilt in psychological and personality issues.

Workshops or Groups
DBT Groups starting August 2nd, 2017:
The first is a 10-week 75-minute (6:45-8:00PM) group focused on developing DBT skills to deal with anxiety and depression for men and woman.  Total price $350.
The second is an Intensive DBT group running 17 weeks for 1 hour and 45 minutes (8:15-10:00PM). This would be better for people with long term or more intensive issues such as severe anxiety/depression, personality/mood disorders and some forms of PTSD.  Total cost  $680 ($23 per hour).
Personal

Ken enjoys spending time with family and friends.  He is a member of Holy Name Church where he serves as a sacristan.  In addition, he loves reading, gardening, cooking, and European travel.  Finally, he always enjoys contemplating and discussing the big spiritual and moral questions of life while trying to see wonder in all things.
